Software Thermal Derating
We use various specialized software tools to analyse, predict, and implement the reduction of a component’s or system’s performance limits for power/current based on operating temperature, to ensure reliability, prevent premature failure, reduce thermal stress on the component/system, and ultimately increase the life of the product. We have successfully implemented this in various products such as converters, chargers, LED drivers, and prediction-based algorithms to increase the safety margin between the component’s maximum rated limits and the actual stresses it experiences in a given environment.
